EDB is committed to ensuring that its customers can be confident that the company always has sufficient capacity and expertise available to deliver high quality services. As an important part of this commitment, we have developed global sourcing from high-quality resources located in properly certificated and recognized environments outside the Nordic countries.
Global sourcing provides input to our deliveries in both IT operating services and applications management. In addition, we offer dedicated development resources directly from our certificated development centres in the Ukraine and India. This model gives EDB’s customers access to the benefits of global sourcing from low-cost countries, coupled with EDB's assurance that it is using skilled and experienced employees subject to the same quality standards and ethical guidelines as all the group's employees in the Nordic countries.
The particular features of EDB's global sourcing model are as follows:
Ownership model: EDB owns the companies it uses for global sourcing. This makes it easier to ensure that services and products meet the local requirements of customers in the Nordic countries.
Price/benefit/risk: EDB’s model does not cause increased risk for local customers, but allows us to offer a better cost-benefit relationship.
Overheads: It is important to ensure that the benefits of global sourcing are not offset by increased overheads. EDB’s strategy of using dedicated resources in local subsidiaries that are closely monitored in terms of quality and efficiency plays an important role in this respect.
