EDB offers one of the largest competence environments for IT. We are of course a workplace, but we are just as much a centre for competence development.
Work on competence development at EDB takes place mainly within the various operational environments and through the projects we carry out for our customers. However, competence development also takes place through a range of product forums and expertise networks. The working environment at EDB is characterised by everyone's enthusiasm to share their skills and experience and help to develop EDB as a knowledge-based business.
Focus on certification
We rely on properly certificated employees with high levels of expertise to ensure that we deliver secure and reliable solutions for our customers. EDB therefore places great emphasis on helping its employees to gain certification. Working together with selected partners, we arrange courses in a range of technologies and programs leading to certification. We also place great importance on our guidelines for business ethics, and one of the ways these are promoted is through the company's own ‘Reputation’ e-training program.
A further example of EDB's structured competence development is the EDB Project Academy. We also provide regular short updates on a wide range of technical themes in a format that we call Power Lunch. In addition, EDB focuses strongly on management training, with regular surveys of employee opinion, management evaluation and specific management training programs. We are committed to using coaching to facilitate good performance, and we put a lot of emphasis on training in performance management and coaching skills.
